If you could pick one movie or book that influenced your approach to therapy, what would it be and why?
If I had to choose one movie that influenced my decision to become a counselor, it would definitely be Good Will Hunting. The film showcases the transformative power of therapy, particularly through the relationship between Will and his therapist, Sean. What resonates with me most is how therapy isn’t just about the techniques or methods used, but about the deep, human connection that allows someone to truly open up, heal, and grow.
In the movie, Sean doesn’t just act as a therapist—he meets Will where he is, understands his pain, and challenges him with compassion and authenticity. It’s this ability to truly see and understand someone, and help them realize their worth and potential, that inspired me to pursue this career. It’s not about having all the answers, but rather about creating a space where clients can find their own answers, feel supported, and begin to heal from their past. Good Will Hunting helped me realize that therapy can be a powerful, life-changing experience, and that’s what drives me to be the kind of therapist who builds those meaningful, transformative connections with my clients.

Work HistoryOver the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals across a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, which has deepened my understanding of how personal challenges affect both the mind and body. In my early work, I focused on helping people navigate anxiety, depression, and the stressors of everyday life. This experience gave me a strong foundation in understanding how overwhelming life events, both big and small, can impact mental health.
As I continued my practice, I started working with individuals who had experienced trauma—whether that was childhood abuse, intimate partner violence, or other forms of hardship. This work was particularly transformative for me, as it taught me the importance of creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can begin to heal. It’s in this space that I also developed a deep interest in trauma-informed care, which helps clients understand and process their past while also building skills for the present and future.
I’ve also worked with teens, which has given me a greater appreciation for the unique pressures they face, from social media challenges to navigating changes in their identity. Supporting young people through anxiety, self-esteem issues, and relationship struggles has allowed me to develop strategies that connect with their specific needs, helping them build resilience in ways that feel empowering.
Over time, my practice has evolved to incorporate mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral techniques, which have proven to be incredibly effective in helping clients manage overwhelming emotions and build coping strategies. Whether it's through mindfulness exercises, helping clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns, or guiding them in building healthier habits, I find these tools help create lasting, positive change.
The diversity of my work has enriched my ability to meet clients where they are, whether they’re dealing with trauma, anxiety, or simply the pressures of daily life. My goal is always to help people feel heard, understood, and supported as they navigate their personal journey toward healing and growth.
