Additionally, with this degree I was trained in evidence-based trauma interventions and therapeutic techniques, such as trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and somatic experiencing. Work HistoryI am a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Marietta, GA. I welcome young adults and adults into my practice, including couples, who struggle with their emotions inhibiting important aspects of their lives. Many of my clients find that their anxiety, depression, grief, or relationship conflicts interrupt their ability to feel in control of their lives. Often, my clients’ mental health has been negatively impacted by trauma, leaving them with unconscious trauma reactions.
My approach to therapy incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness work. I teach clients how to become more self-aware so they can identify what’s happening internally for themselves, with the goal of engaging effective coping strategies before reaching the point of overwhelm. When working with couples, I utilize the Gottman Method to show clients the power that emotions have when it comes to bonding. Sessions with me are collaborative, creative, and exploratory as clients talk honestly about how they’re doing and what’s happening in their lives.
I earned a doctorate in Education in Community Care and Counseling-Traumatology from Liberty University. I am passionate about helping others and a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator, Prolonged Exposure Therapy as well as Gottman therapist. I am a down-to-earth yet intentional therapist who seeks to empower my clients to live healthy, happy lives.
