Get To Know Me
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
Working with me means having a space that honors both your strengths and your struggles. I understand that therapy isn't one-size-fits-all, especially if you're navigating chronic illness, neurodivergence, sleep issues, or life after a brain injury. I’ll meet you where you are, without judgment or pressure to perform or "fix" things quickly. We’ll move at a pace that respects your energy, capacity, and goals.
My style is collaborative, warm, and grounded in evidence-based approaches like CBT, ACT, mindfulness, and cognitive rehabilitation. I’ll offer structure and tools when needed, but I also leave space for humor, curiosity, and honest reflection. You don’t have to show up as anyone other than yourself, I’m here to help you make sense of your experiences and build a life that feels more manageable, meaningful, and your own.
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
My path to becoming a therapist started in junior high, when a school counselor changed the course of my life. Her presence during a difficult time showed me what it meant to feel truly seen and supported, and planted the seed that I could one day do the same for others. Over the years, that calling only grew stronger. I’ve always been drawn to understanding how people adapt, heal, and live more fully, especially when they’re facing invisible challenges.
Living with a chronic illness myself, becoming an adoptive parent, and working in both educational and rehabilitation settings have all shaped the way I show up in the therapy room. I don’t just bring professional training I bring real-life experience, deep empathy, and a belief that healing can happen even when things feel overwhelming or stuck. I chose this profession to help people find relief, regain clarity, and feel more connected to who they are, not just who they’re expected to be.
If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?
I wish more people knew that therapy doesn’t have to feel like starting over from scratch or reliving your hardest moments. It’s not about being “broken” or needing to be fixed, it’s about having a space that’s just for you, where you don’t have to mask, explain everything, or pretend you’re okay when you’re not. Therapy can be gentle. It can be collaborative. And it can actually feel like a relief, not another task on your to-do list.
You don’t have to have the right words or know exactly what you need. You just have to be willing to show up, even a little, and we can figure the rest out together.

Work HistoryFor over 15 years, I’ve supported children, teens, and adults through a range of emotional and neurological challenges. My experience spans schools, hospitals, rehab centers, and private practice—each shaping how I work today.
I began in community mental health, helping adults with chronic mental health conditions. That’s where I learned the value of steady, nonjudgmental support. In schools, I worked with students with disabilities, focusing on emotional regulation, crisis support, and creating safe spaces for kids who often felt misunderstood.
While working at a University Hospital, I counseled adults adjusting to life after brain injuries, strokes, and other medical conditions. Many were struggling quietly with memory, sleep, or identity shifts. I offered both individual and group therapy, collaborated with medical teams, and trained providers on integrating mental health care into treatment.
Now in private practice, I bring these experiences together to support adults who are often high-functioning yet silently overwhelmed. Many have lived with misdiagnosis or dismissal. Here, they find a space to feel seen, understood, and supported at their own pace.
