Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by both personal and professional experiences that deepened my passion for helping others heal. Throughout my life, I have seen firsthand how trauma, loss, stress, and relationship challenges can affect individuals and families in profound ways. Those experiences gave me a strong desire to understand people more deeply and to help create spaces where healing and meaningful change can happen.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in roles that supported children, families, and individuals navigating complex life challenges. These experiences helped me recognize how often people are carrying pain that goes unseen and how deeply our relationships shape our emotional well-being. I became especially drawn to understanding trauma, attachment, family systems, and the ways our past experiences influence how we show up in the present.
I chose Marriage and Family Therapy because I believe healing does not happen in isolation. Our relationships with ourselves and others often hold both our deepest wounds and our greatest opportunities for growth and repair. I am passionate about helping clients better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and break patterns that no longer serve them.
What continues to inspire me is the resilience I see in the people I work with every day. Even in difficult circumstances, people have an incredible capacity for growth, healing, and change when they feel safe, supported, and understood. It is a privilege to walk alongside clients in that process and help them move toward greater connection, clarity, and hope.

Education
National University, Master of Arts, Marriage and Family Therapy, 2024 — I earned my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from National University, with a specialization in Military Families. My graduate training focused on understanding how relational dynamics, attachment, trauma, and systemic stressors impact individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan.
My academic and clinical training emphasized evidence-based, trauma-informed care, with focused work in family systems, couples therapy, child and adolescent development, and complex trauma. Through both coursework and clinical experience, I developed specialized knowledge in working with military families, foster and adoptive families, blended families, and individuals navigating relational disruption or significant life transitions.
In addition to formal education, I have pursued advanced training in Brainspotting Levels I and II, trauma-informed interventions, attachment-based work, and relational therapy models. My approach is grounded in understanding the connection between past experiences, nervous system responses, and present-day relationship patterns to support meaningful and lasting change.
Work HistoryMy clinical experience has centered on supporting children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families through some of life’s most challenging and emotionally complex experiences. Over the years, I have worked extensively with individuals and families navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, attachment wounds, relationship struggles, and major life transitions.
Much of my work has involved helping children and teens with emotional regulation, behavioral challenges, trauma histories, and family conflict. I have significant experience working with foster care, adoption, and child welfare systems, which has deepened my understanding of how trauma, disrupted attachment, and instability can impact both children and caregivers. This has also strengthened my ability to support parents, foster parents, and caregivers who may feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or unsure of how to best help their child.
I have also worked closely with couples and families who feel stuck in painful patterns of conflict, disconnection, or miscommunication. Together, we work to better understand the underlying needs, emotions, and relational dynamics that may be contributing to distress while creating healthier ways to connect, communicate, and repair.
My background also includes specialized work with trauma recovery, including complex trauma, PTSD, and nervous system-based responses to stress. I understand that trauma often affects more than just thoughts and emotions—it can influence relationships, behaviors, physical health, and a person’s sense of safety in the world. My goal is to help clients better understand these patterns while building tools for healing, regulation, and meaningful change.
I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, supported, and genuinely understood. I believe healing happens in relationships, and therapy works best when it feels collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in trust.
