What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
My path to becoming a therapist began with a background in English and Anthropology, where I became fascinated by people’s stories and the ways culture shapes our lives. While volunteering and later working in mental health and vocational programs, I saw how meaningful it is to help people feel heard, understood, and supported through change.
If you could pick one movie or book that influenced your approach to therapy, what would it be and why?
My approach to therapy is shaped by the writings of Hermann Hesse, Albert Camus, and Yukio Mishima, who each explore self-discovery, meaning in uncertainty, and the tension between ideals and reality. Their work reminds me that growth comes from facing life’s contradictions with honesty, courage, and curiosity.

Work HistoryI’ve had the privilege of working with adults in recovery from substance use, as well as individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. In my previous role at a vocational and mental health program, I helped clients rebuild confidence, develop new skills, and take meaningful steps toward their personal and professional goals. My experience also includes supporting clients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, offering therapy in both English and Mandarin. These experiences have shaped my approach into one that blends insight-oriented work with practical strategies, helping clients feel understood while making real progress.
