Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I chose to become a therapist because of my own personal life experiences. When I was a child, my brother was diagnosed with cancer, and this was a deeply difficult time for my family and me. During that period, I often felt alone and struggled to make sense of what I was experiencing.
This experience has given me a unique and meaningful understanding of what children may go through when they are facing grief, loss, or trauma at a young age. It has shaped my passion for supporting children and adolescents through emotionally painful or overwhelming experiences, with a focus on helping them feel seen, supported, and less alone than I once felt.
In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
My personality plays an important role in shaping my approach to therapy. I tend to be naturally warm, calm, and attentive, which helps me create a safe and welcoming space where clients feel comfortable opening up at their own pace. I value being present and emotionally attuned, and I pay close attention to both what is said and what is not said, which supports a deeper understanding of each client’s experience.
I also bring a thoughtful and reflective style to my work. I’m patient and intentional, allowing clients the time they need without pressure, while gently guiding the therapeutic process when appropriate. At the same time, I am genuine and human in my interactions, which helps build trust and a strong therapeutic relationship.
Overall, I aim to balance empathy with clarity and support clients in feeling understood, grounded, and empowered as they work toward their goals.
What do you think is the biggest barrier today for people seeking care?
One of the biggest barriers today is accessibility—both practical and emotional.
On the practical side, cost, insurance limitations, long waitlists, and a shortage of providers make it difficult for many people to actually get in the door. Even when services are available, navigating coverage and finding a good match can feel overwhelming and discouraging.
On the emotional side, stigma still plays a major role. Many people worry about being judged, misunderstood, or seen as “weak” for needing support. Others delay care because they’ve learned to cope on their own for so long that asking for help feels unfamiliar or uncomfortable.
There’s also a quieter barrier that often gets overlooked: not knowing where to start. When someone is already struggling, the process of finding a therapist, figuring out what type of care they need, and taking that first step can feel like too much.
Reducing these barriers usually comes down to improving access, normalizing mental health care, and making the first step feel simpler and more welcoming.

Work HistoryI have experience working with children, teens, and families in both supportive educational and therapeutic settings, which ultimately led me to pursue a career in therapy.
