Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
My path to becoming a therapist began with a lifelong curiosity about how people think, communicate, and make meaning of their experiences. I first explored these interests through the study of cognitive science, linguistics, and neuroscience, where I gained a deeper understanding of the connections between the brain, behavior, and emotional well-being. While that work strengthened my scientific foundation, I realized I was most fulfilled when helping people navigate life's challenges on a personal level.
That realization led me to pursue a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University. Since then, I've had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families facing anxiety, trauma, grief, burnout, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. These experiences have reinforced my belief that meaningful change happens when people feel safe, understood, and empowered.
I became a therapist because I believe everyone deserves a space where they can be heard without judgment, develop practical tools for change, and build a life that aligns with their values. My goal is to help clients not only overcome current challenges but also develop the resilience and confidence to thrive long after therapy ends.

Education
Northwestern University, Master of Arts, Counseling, 2025 — Completed a Master of Arts in Counseling at Northwestern University, a CACREP-accredited program emphasizing evidence-based clinical practice, multicultural competence, ethics, and professional identity development. Training included coursework and supervised clinical experience in individual, couples, and family counseling across diverse populations. The program emphasized the integration of research, culturally responsive care, and practical therapeutic skills to support clients experiencing a wide range of mental health and life challenges.
I am committed to providing ethical, affirming, and culturally responsive care. I am an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and its professional divisions, including the Association for Counseling Sexology & Sexual Wellness (ACSSW), the Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development (AMCD), the International Association for Resilience and Trauma Counseling (IARTC), and the Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities (SAIGE). These memberships reflect my ongoing commitment to professional development and delivering inclusive, evidence-based care.
Work HistoryThroughout my clinical career, I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families across outpatient, intensive outpatient (IOP), and private practice settings. These experiences have allowed me to support clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, burnout, relationship concerns, identity exploration, life transitions, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and other emotional and behavioral challenges. I have extensive experience conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing evidence-based therapy tailored to each client's unique needs and goals.
My work has included helping clients strengthen communication, improve emotional regulation, process traumatic experiences, navigate career and relationship stress, build self-esteem, and develop healthier coping strategies. I have also worked closely with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary treatment teams to ensure clients receive coordinated, compassionate, and effective care. My clinical approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, trauma-informed care, and other evidence-based practices while remaining collaborative, culturally responsive, and individualized.
In addition to providing therapy, I have developed psychoeducational resources, facilitated support groups and workshops, and participated in community outreach efforts to increase mental health awareness and improve access to quality behavioral healthcare. Earlier in my career, my work in neuroscience and behavioral health research deepened my understanding of the relationship between the brain, behavior, sleep, stress, and emotional well-being, strengthening the evidence-based foundation I bring to my clinical practice today.
