Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I uncovered my own ADHD diagnosis in college, and my own journey with therapy and the connections I made with mentors along the way also inspired me to help others find their path, build self-acceptance, and find joy and meaning in life.
In what ways do your life philosophy and treatment philosophy overlap?
I believe the meaning in life is what we make of it - we have the freedom, and responsibility, to find that meaning for ourselves. Our personal meaning is not something that can be imposed on us by others - we always have the ability to choose what is important to us, and that meaning is just as divine as our very spirit. In the therapy room, I will always respect and honor your values, beliefs, and perspective. You are the expert in your own life - my job is to walk alongside you and help you be authentic to yourself.
If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?
You don't have to wait until you are "sick enough" or "stressed enough" to start therapy. All people deserve to be able to tell their story to someone who will listen, even if you aren't quite sure what the story is yet. My job is to walk with you as you learn about yourself, clarify your goals in life, overcome day-to-day obstacles, and work towards the person you want to be, and you are the one who decides where that path leads.
