I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). EFT is a therapy model that is rooted in attachment theory. Attachment theory works from the belief that humans were created to be in relationships which are characterized by accessibility, responsiveness, and engagement: relationships in which we we truly feel seen, heard, and understood. To the extent that we feel disconnected from ourselves and others, our bodies can experience some pretty distressing symptoms. Something that is different about EFT sessions is that we are not just talking about emotions, but actually feeling them experientially in the moment in order to access your underlying needs, fears, and longings in order to get to the heart of what's driving the negative cycles that are at play in your life and relationships and so that we can move towards greater safety and security within yourself and in your closest relationships. I have completed both the EFT Externship and the EFT Advanced Core Skills Training and am currently pursuing full certification in EFT. I utilize EFT in my work with couples, individuals, and families.
