What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
I draw from many different treatment methods but I primarily focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which looks at behavior activation (changing behaviors through recognizing them), Changing your negative thinking, and helping you to problem solve to cope with difficult situations. Other methods I use might be Exposure Response Prevention and Prolonged Exposure which both look at helping those with Anxiety, OCD, and Trauma handle their symptoms by working slowly to expose you to what you are fearing. When working with couples I utilize the Gottman Method which looks at a couple as individuals in a home. Each levels of the home have significance to your relationship and your home is built on a base of communication, trust, and commitment to one another.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Each session is different, however clients can expect to take away some piece from our session whether thats to practice some mindfulness technique or setting boundaries with someone.
What excites you most about the evolving mental health landscape?
What excites me is the mental health field is constantly evolving and changing. There is always something new to learn and gain knowledge on and that's done through working with various different clients.
