Education
Grand Canyon University, Master of Science, Master of Science in Professional Counseling, 2018
Work HistoryMy path to counseling started with a simple observation: people already have real strength within them—they sometimes just need someone to walk alongside them while they find it. Over the years, I've worked with adults and older adults facing some of life's toughest moments. I developed my foundation in Solution Focused therapy because I watched clients light up when we shifted from dwelling on problems to discovering what actually works for them. My training at Grand Canyon University gave me the clinical grounding, but my real education came from sitting with people during their difficult times and helping them find their way through. Working with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, and trauma taught me the value of patience. I learned to match their pace. This is where my work with DBT and CBT techniques became useful, they gave me practical tools to offer when someone was ready to try something new. My experience with older adults deepened my appreciation for life transitions. Whether someone was navigating retirement, loss, or unexpected health changes, I found that honoring their lifetime of experience while introducing fresh perspectives created real change. Throughout my career, I've maintained focus on what I tell every client: we're not here to fix you because you're not broken. We're here to help you solve your own problems with practical strategies that fit your real life. If you're ready to explore what's possible for you, I'd welcome the opportunity to talk.
