In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
I have always been a curious and adventurous person, and which I think lends to my therapeutic approach of exploring the landscapes of my clients' life stories. I have lived and worked all over the world, while having deep roots in New York City. I grew up in a family that was culturally different from those around me, so I always was aware of subtle differences as I tried to navigate having a foot in two different sets of social norms. I am an introspective, gentle listener and have always prioritized the emotional safety of those around me. Humor has always been a coping skill of mine, and I bring this into my work with clients as a natural way of working through heavy topics.

Work HistoryI have 18 collective years of working in mental health. I started my career as an Adolescent Counselor in a long term inpatient setting working with teenage girls facing complex psychiatric and trauma histories. From there I went on to work with families dealing with refugee cases, complex immigration challenges, chronic and terminal illness, and death of a caregiver. I've worked in intensive in-home treatment programs supporting families through the reunification process after a family member's clinical outpatient placement, and supported families in avoiding such placement through intensive family therapy and community collaboration. I have run therapeutic retreat programs in Southeast Asia and South America, and am a certified Trauma Informed Yoga Instructor, having trained in India and NYC. From this background I bring an understanding on how trauma impacts the nervous system and tools to work with this. In the early days of the pandemic, I moved to online therapy, serving clients in NYC and the UK. I have since transitioned into international practice, and continue to work with clients in NYS as well as with English speaking expats and nomads worldwide. I bring a deep cultural understanding and curiosity to my practice, and love to explore the ways in which culture shapes the individual, family and couple experience.
