Jussety Vanessa MonterreyLPC, LMHC
In Eastern Time
During the first session we will initially focus on building a safe space for you. I want to get to know you as a person rather than the issues that bring you to therapy. It is important for me to know what you are looking for and if you have had previous experiences with therapy that could help me understand how to better assist you in addressing your concerns. We will discuss what's going on in your life now, your interests and preferences, and more importantly, I will ask you what you think I need to know to accompany you in this journey. I will ask you about your current challenges and what you hope to get out of therapy. I look forward to partnering with you. You are the driver, I am just the GPS.

I am a Mental Health Counselor with 11 years of experience aiming to partner with you in your journey to healing. I use my expertise in creative ways to personalize strategies that can help address your concerns causing emotional distress. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. My main objective is to empower and help you develop tools to feel confident in facing life challenges. I use an integrative approach deriving from various evidenced-based, strength-based, and culturally sensitive strategies with emphasis in CBT. I have worked with: ADHD (adults and children), anxiety, depression, stress management, anger management, bipolar disorder, parenting issues, OCD, behavioral issues, emotional disturbances, family conflicts, relationship issues, as well as other mental health, emotional, and behavioral challenges. I will partner with you in the process of self-discovery, gaining awareness of problematic behaviors, and developing insight about how your experiences have shaped thoughts, behaviors and emotions. This will help you strengthen yourself, be equipped, and feel confident to achieve your goals.
