Education
Touro University Worldwide, Marriage and Family Therapy, 2023 — Karl graduated Magna Cum Laude from TUW. During his time in the Marriage & Family Therapy program Karl had the great fortune of working with some of the most skilled therapists in Individual, Child, Family and Trauma therapy in the country. Specifically guiding the treatment of individuals and families dealing with the complexities of domestic, international, private, foster and interracial adoption. His work and education in attachment and relationships led him to having a passion for working with couples struggling in their relationship, friends and coworkers wanting to improve their communication and especially couples where one or both partners is adopted or their marriage is impacted by having adopted children. Karl's work is noted for it's intention of bringing people closer together by deepening their understanding and connection.
Goddard College, Master of Arts, Adoption Studies, 2011 — In 2011 Karl graduated from Goddard College with his individualized master's degree in Adoption Studies. It was during his tenure at Goddard that Karl immersed himself in researching and understanding the impact of adoption on the individual, family (both biological and adoptive) and all those related to the adoption. It was through this work that Karl identified the social stories and role expectations of everyone touched by adoption and began to unravel the unintended by deeply impacting nature that these stories and roles play on the adoptee, family and everyone around them.
Goddard College, Bachelor of Arts, Psychology of Communication, 2009
Work HistoryKarl has been an adoption consultant and speaking to groups on adoption since 2009. His work has crossed borders and oceans in having opportunities to consult, coach, speak educate and publish on the topics of adoption, trauma and relationships. He spent time as the director of a foster and adoption agency, but found most of his time being called into service as a consultant to agencies and families that have adopted or are considering if adoption is right for them. In adding Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist to his resume Karl has had the opportunity to work with some of the most respected therapists and centers in the nation to hone and learn his craft.
