Education
Messiah University, Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, 2025 — I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, which provided me with advanced knowledge in evidence-based therapeutic modalities and ethical clinical practice. During my graduate studies, I became a member of Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International in recognition of scholastic and professional excellence. These academic achievements and experiences have further enhanced my skills and commitment as a therapist, ensuring that I bring both expertise and passion to my work with every client. I have successfully passed the National Counseling Examination (NCE) and am in the process of completing the educational requirements for the Grief Counseling Certification from the American Institute of Healthcare Professionals. In addition to my academic background and clinical experience, I am an active member of the American Counseling Association and the Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling (ASERVIC) which allows me to stay current with best practices and emerging research within the field. I also participate in other professional organizations dedicated to advancing mental health care and professional development
Work HistoryThroughout my career, I have built a strong foundation in social services, holding positions in case management, crisis intervention, preventive family counseling in both nonprofit and public agency settings. My early work involved supporting individuals and families through acute crises, connecting clients to essential services, and advocating for their long-term wellbeing. These roles and experiences are what inspired me to become a clinical therapist and have enabled me to develop a holistic understanding of the challenges faced by diverse populations and strengthened my commitment to providing compassionate, client-centered care. During my graduate studies, I completed several intensive internships in substance abuse counseling, where I worked closely with individuals battling addiction and co-occurring mental health issues. In this setting, I facilitated both individual and group sessions focused on relapse prevention, dual diagnosis support, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) interventions. My experience leading dual focus and CBT groups has enabled me to help clients develop effective coping strategies, foster resilience, and achieve meaningful recovery outcomes. I continue to integrate these specialized skills into my practice, tailoring my approach to meet each client’s unique needs and promote sustainable healing. Through these diverse roles, I have gained extensive experience working with individuals and families facing a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, suicidal ideations, addiction, and trauma from sexual abuse and domestic violence. This breadth of exposure has deepened my empathy and equipped me with practical tools to address complex emotional and behavioral challenges. As a result, I am able to provide informed, sensitive care that supports clients through even the most difficult circumstances.
