What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I want to be a person that people can feel comfortable talking to without worrying about being judged, criticized, and not listened to. I opened my own practice in 2023 called Be Heard - Live Well. I chose the name because I firmly believe that the people who put their time, money, and trust in me deserved to be heard and to live well. I have been in therapy myself and have had painful experiences with therapists who did not care and were unwilling to listen and this has motivated me to become a therapist who listens and is empathetic.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I ask plenty of questions and give feedback but listening attentively as it is the best way for me to develop a comprehensive understanding of my clients. When someone shares their story, I learn more from how they share it and not just from the words said.
I work with clients to help them achieve their goals using a person-centered approach. I believe that therapy sessions should be a safe space for you to share without judgment or criticism and are always welcome to discuss what is on your mind.

Work HistoryI have worked as a therapist since 2020 for private agencies, I have experience treating adults with various mental health matters and afflictions. I spent eight years working in community mental health as a case manager and then as a team leader; for two of those years I worked concurrently as a clinical intern completing intakes and providing supportive counseling to clients. While working in community mental health, I have worked with adults with mental illnesses including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorder, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders. Prior to that, I worked with adults with developmental disabilities and mental illness in group homes for ten years.
