Learn more about my:

What would be important for someone to know about working with you?

My approach in therapy is casual, friendly, and most importantly non judgmental. I put a lot of value on building rapport with my clients as this is an important foundation in doing the more in-depth work in our sessions. I often structure my sessions from a strength-based and collaborative approach, where we will work as a team to process and work on your treatment goals. I will also challenge you when needed in order to work on challenging your "inner critic" that often presents itself when emotions are overwhelming.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My clients can expect to gain clarity to their presenting issues and questions, a toolbelt of coping skills to manage anxious thoughts and self-esteem, and whether my client is working with me individually or in couples therapy, improved communication to express emotions, needs, and manage conflict. My clients will also experience a validating and empathic therapist who is there to listen to them and ease the internal tension that often comes with presenting issues.

What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?

I have wanted to be a therapist since I was a 17 year old High School Student. Therapy was not something that was normalized in my life, and I often found myself trying to find ways to manage my own anxiety. I became an advocate for mental health awareness and decided to pursue a career helping others. I have continued to be passionate about mental health advocacy, especially suicide prevention, de-stigmatizing therapy, and normalizing emotional expression.

Work History

I have worked in many different clinics such as an inpatient psychiatric hospital, crisis house, and various outpatient programs for adults, children, and couples. Throughout my time, I have come to develop a passion for specifically working with anxiety, life transitions, and couples/relationships. As my title of a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist suggests, I look at any presenting problem through the lens of how relationships with self and others are impacted. This background and training has not only enhanced my work with couples, but also my work with individuals.
