What do you view as a key component of the therapeutic relationship?
The therapeutic alliance. If there is not trust and mutual respect for one another then I do not believe that therapy can truly be successful.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
Very collaborative. I believe that the only person who is an expert on you is you. I am here to help guide and support you down whatever path you may choose. I believe in autonomy and that you have a choice to be exactly who you want to be therefore I am here to help guide and support you along the way.

Work HistoryHi! I'm Kelsi Camak. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) in South Carolina with 10 years of professional experience. I help clients navigate through life's challenges by utilizing an integrative approach that is tailored to best suit you. After all, no two people are identical therefore no two treatments will be identical.
My professional experience includes supporting clients who are experiencing stress and anxiety, depression, relationship and interpersonal and/or intrapersonal issues, health and wellness as well as trauma and abuse (specifically religious trauma). I consider my communication style in therapy as one that is genuine and transparent. I also never underestimate the power of humor while also treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I approach every therapeutic relationship collaboratively as you are the expert in your own life.
I believe the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client is the most important aspect of treatment. For therapy to be successful, you need to feel comfortable with our relationship from our very first interaction. It is my goal to ensure that our time together will be a safe place for you!
