Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I actually started my career as a pre-med student and switched to social work after having a tarot reading in the summer of 2021, where my reader asked me if I was a psychologist or therapist because my spirit was incredibly grounding? That subsequent spring, I was enrolled in graduated school for social work. I chose this profession because engaging in my community and talking to others is where my talent and mind is best suited. Helping others process how they feel and being supported is what allows people to be authentically who we are.
In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
I inform my clients that I'm a relational therapist, meaning that I truly value being relatable and showing up as I am in session. I always come from the approach that I'm not holier than thou, and that I'm a person just like them who values their individuality.
How does collaboration with other providers play into your work?
I truly value the work that my colleagues contribute to the community because we all value and appreciate each other's experiences. I think it's truly important to have a positive network of colleagues not only to form a relationship with, but being beacons in the community who can help others when we can't. I'm of the mind that should I not have the answers, my colleagues will and it has never steered my clients or I in the wrong direction.
