Get To Know Me
If you could pick one movie or book that influenced your approach to therapy, what would it be and why?
One book that has influenced my approach is *The Body Keeps the Score* by Bessel van der Kolk. It reinforces the importance of understanding the connection between our emotional experiences, physical health, and overall well-being. This perspective aligns with my approach to care because I believe in looking beyond symptoms and understanding the whole person. My background in both primary care and mental health has taught me that emotional and physical wellness are often interconnected. I strive to create a supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and actively involved in their treatment and healing process.
In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
My life and professional experiences have taught me the importance of compassion, patience, and truly listening to people without judgment. Throughout my years in healthcare, I have met individuals from many different backgrounds and at very different stages of life. These experiences have reminded me that every person has a unique story, and there is rarely a one-size-fits-all approach to mental health and wellness. I bring this perspective into my work by meeting clients where they are, respecting their individual values and experiences, and working collaboratively with them to develop realistic and meaningful goals for their care.

Education
Wilkes University, Associate of Applied Arts, Psychiatry (PMHNP), 2021 — My advanced education and clinical training as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) prepared me to provide comprehensive, evidence-based psychiatric and mental health care to adults ages 18 and older. My training includes psychiatric assessment and diagnosis, psychopharmacology, medication management, and therapeutic interventions. I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, follow-up care, medication management, individual and group therapy, and wellness coaching. My approach emphasizes individualized, patient-centered care that considers each person’s mental, emotional, and overall well-being when developing a treatment plan.
South University, Master of Science in Nursing, Family Practice (FNP), 2019 — My advanced education and clinical training as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) prepared me to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to adults ages 18 and older. My clinical services include weight management, travel and quick-care visits, medical and mental health form completion, and sexual health consultations. My approach emphasizes preventive care, health education, wellness, and individualized treatment to help patients make informed decisions about their health and achieve their personal wellness goals.
Work HistoryMy experience in healthcare began well before I became a nurse practitioner. Prior to completing my advanced practice training, I worked in a variety of healthcare settings, including acute care hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, assisted living facilities, home health, long-term mental health facilities, and detoxification and substance use treatment settings. These experiences gave me the opportunity to care for individuals with a wide range of medical, mental health, and recovery needs.
After becoming a nurse practitioner, I spent more than six years working with different healthcare organizations as both a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner before establishing my private practice. Working across primary care and mental health allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of how physical health, emotional well-being, lifestyle, sleep, stress, and life circumstances can influence one another.
Throughout my career, I have developed experience in psychiatric evaluations, medication management, anxiety, depression, sleep concerns, individual and group therapy, wellness support, weight management, and general health concerns. My diverse background allows me to approach care from a whole-person perspective rather than focusing on one symptom or diagnosis.
Today, I bring these years of experience into my private practice, where I strive to provide compassionate, individualized care. I believe in listening carefully, understanding what matters most to each person, and working together to develop practical treatment and wellness goals that fit their individual needs.
