In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by personal experiences that I came to understand more fully later in life. My parents’ divorce when I was eight had a deeper impact than anyone realized at the time, largely because I was high-functioning and appeared to be doing well. It wasn’t until my own therapeutic work that I recognized how much I had learned to adapt and push through. I was also affected by my mother’s untreated anxiety, which filled my environment with fear and caution, contrasting with my own natural curiosity and zest for life. Immigrating to the United States at 13 further shaped my identity, confidence, and sense of belonging—suddenly feeling out of place despite previously thriving academically and socially. Living between two cultures and learning to integrate those parts of myself has strongly influenced my work and fuels my passion for helping clients make sense of their experiences, reclaim agency, and feel more whole and grounded in who they are.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
My work is grounded in over 20 years of experience providing individual therapy and couples counseling from a trauma-informed, relational perspective. I am bilingual in English and Spanish, which allows me to offer care that feels culturally attuned and emotionally accessible. I am trained in several evidence-based, trauma-informed modalities, including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), DBT, and attachment-focused approaches. Rather than relying on a single method, I integrate these frameworks to meet each client’s unique needs and pace, helping therapy feel flexible, personalized, and effective.
Clients often benefit from my ability to connect present-day anxiety, relationship struggles, and self-doubt to earlier relational or developmental experiences, without pathologizing or blaming. My approach helps clients gain insight into long-standing patterns, regulate their nervous system, and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. I work especially well with high-functioning, conscientious individuals and couples who are motivated for meaningful change and want therapy that goes beyond symptom management to create lasting emotional and relational growth.

Education
Florida International University, Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, 2006
Work HistoryI earned my undergraduate degree at the University of Florida and completed my master’s in Mental Health Counseling at Florida International University, graduating at 24. I began my career in community mental health, including work at Citrus Community Mental Health, where I gained extensive experience supporting complex and high-need populations. I later worked as a school counselor at an alternative school for children with behavioral and emotional challenges and taught psychology at both the high school and college levels.
After seven years in a group private practice, I transitioned into independent practice and founded Psych Blossom in 2019. Today, I feel deeply aligned with the work I do—supporting adults as they process the impact of difficult childhood experiences and reclaim agency, choice, and emotional freedom in their lives. I’m passionate about helping clients recognize that while they didn’t choose what happened to them, they have meaningful power to shape what comes next.
