Education
Bradley University, Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, 2022 — A master's degree in clinical mental health counseling provides the foundational knowledge and practical skills to diagnose, treat, and help individuals, groups, and families with mental and emotional distress. Programs typically involve coursework in counseling theories, ethics, human development, and assessment, along with supervised clinical experience.
Kansas State University, Bachelor of Science, Human Development and Family Science, 2018 — Human development and family science focuses on the development of the individual across the lifespan in a family context. Students learn to implement and assess programs and services designed to strengthen and enhance individual and family well-being.
Work HistoryThroughout my career, I’ve had the chance to work with people across many stages of life and in many different settings. I first developed my skills working with young children as a preschool teacher, supporting infants through Pre-K. That experience taught me how to connect with kids in a way that’s warm, patient, and grounded in understanding what they need developmentally. From there, I also worked as an academic tutor and athletic coach where I was able to help students build confidence, organize their thinking, and discover their own strengths. As I progressed in my academic and professional journey, I moved into mental-health settings where I gained experience supporting youth in more intensive environments. I spent time working in an intensive outpatient program and in a youth inpatient program, where I learned how to support young people and families during some of their most overwhelming moments. Those roles helped me refine my ability to stay present, steady, and solution-focused, even in high-stress situations. I now work in a traditional outpatient setting, where I bring all of these experiences together.
