Under Clinical Supervision

Mrs. Kimberly McKillop, Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern, ISW19845 is practicing under the supervision of Shannon Gerard (Florida, LCSW, SW14396) at SMG & Associates, LLC.

Please, note: A clinician listed as being “clinically supervised” is completing clinical hours toward their licensure. They have one or more fully licensed clinical supervisors that often have special training to become supervisors. They consult with their supervisor(s) on all of their cases, which means that, when working with them, you are getting the time and expertise of multiple therapists in your treatment.

What would be important for someone to know about working with you?

My main priority is that you feel heard and understood. In our initial session, we will explore your reason for seeking therapy, how past life events impact current circumstances, analyze your concerns, and pinpoint the areas where you desire transformation. From there, we will determine the most suitable treatment method for a personalized and practical therapeutic experience.

I am a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern (RCSWI) for the state of Florida and a recent graduate from the University of Southern California’s Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work, Summa Cum Laude, with her Master of Social Work. Kimberly holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Nutrition with a minor in psychology at Middle Tennessee State University. She is currently the USC Phi Alpha Honor Society, Omicron Epsilon Chapter Research Liaison. Kimberly’s MSW focused on the Adult Health and Mental Wellness at USC.

Work History

I have been fortunate enough to have worked in various settings across different fields in my life. This experience has been invaluable in helping me understand individuals better and their struggles with work-life balance. I have worked in diverse roles such as a cafeteria and field manager in dental, medical and school systems, warehouse picker/loader, warehouse QA, sales and leasing agent and manager for apartments, as the owner of a housekeeping service, and as a career recruiter. Despite working in different types of careers, I was still trying to find my true calling and passion. Finally, I have found it in helping people through offering therapy and becoming a social worker.
