Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by personal life experiences that showed me how profoundly challenges and health struggles affect individuals and families. Witnessing this impact sparked a desire to better understand the human experience and to support others through times of uncertainty and pain.
I became aware of how meaningful it is to have someone who truly listens, offers guidance, and helps make sense of complex emotions in a safe, supportive way. This naturally drew me to mental health, and pursuing social work allowed me to develop the clinical skills to provide compassionate, ethical care.
Today, my work is rooted in empathy, presence, and respect for each person’s unique journey. I am honored to walk alongside individuals as they navigate challenges, heal from past experiences, and move toward growth and emotional well-being.
In what ways does your personality influence your approach to therapy?
My approach to therapy is guided by a naturally compassionate, patient, and grounded presence. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients feel comfortable sharing and exploring their experiences at their own pace.
Being an attentive listener is central to my work—I focus on truly understanding each person’s experience without rushing to conclusions or solutions. I bring a calm, steady presence, offering encouragement, reflection, and practical tools while honoring the unique pace of each client’s journey.
Ultimately, my goal is to foster trust and empowerment, helping clients explore, grow, and make meaningful changes that feel authentic and sustainable.
If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?
Therapy isn’t about being judged or “fixed.” It’s a safe, confidential space where you are heard, supported, and understood. You don’t need to have all the answers or be “ready” to start—therapy is a journey where you are the expert of your own life, and I’m here to walk alongside you.
It’s normal to feel uncertain at first, but even small steps can lead to meaningful growth. You don’t have to face your struggles alone.

Education
Johnson C Smith, Master of Social Work, Trauma-Informed Therapy, Anxiety & Stress Regulation, Nervous System & Polyvagal Approaches, 2018 — I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Johnson C. Smith University, where my clinical training emphasized human behavior, trauma-informed care, and the impact of life experiences on emotional well-being. My studies included a focus on nervous system regulation and polyvagal-informed approaches, providing tools to understand and support clients’ physiological and emotional responses to stress and trauma.
Through hands-on clinical training, I worked with individuals and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and major life transitions. This foundation strengthened my commitment to ethical, client-centered care and social justice, which continues to guide my work today. My education equips me to meet clients with empathy, insight, and practical strategies that foster safety, resilience, and meaningful, sustainable change.
Work HistoryMy work as a therapist has grown through years of supporting people during some of the most challenging periods of their lives. Each role has deepened my understanding of how relationships, early experiences, and life events shape emotional well-being—and how healing happens when someone finally feels safe enough to be seen and understood.
I have worked with individuals and families navigating grief, loss, life transitions, anxiety, and chronic stress. I integrate polyvagal and nervous system-informed techniques to help clients regulate physiological and emotional responses, build resilience, and feel grounded in their bodies and minds.
I also support clients impacted by trauma—both single events and complex, long-standing experiences. My approach is trauma-informed, paced to individual needs, and emphasizes safety, trust, and choice. I help clients process painful experiences, develop coping strategies, and strengthen their capacity for emotional regulation and healthy relationships.
Additionally, I assist individuals experiencing depression, low self-worth, and relational challenges. Through understanding the emotional roots of these experiences, clients learn to reconnect with their strengths, values, and sense of meaning, gradually restoring hope, motivation, and balance.
Across all my work, I take a holistic and individualized approach, meeting clients where they are and supporting growth at a pace that feels authentic and sustainable. At the heart of my practice is a deep respect for the therapeutic relationship, grounded in empathy, presence, and genuine connection.
