Get To Know Me
What do you think is the biggest barrier today for people seeking care?
The stigma attached to mental illness. Fear of the unknown, discomfort in opening up to a new therapist, shame people may feel in seeking help.
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I may not know how exactly you feel, but I can relate to the challenges you face, with the obstacles I have overcome, which led me to want to go into this profession.
What do you view as a key component of the therapeutic relationship?
Holding space for my clients. Therapy is not just about talking, listening and is not time spent giving advice. Being present with someone is crucial in therapy and part of developing the therapeutic relationship.

Work HistoryMy style is integrative, combining treatment modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other approaches to help identify where your thoughts, behaviors and emotions lead you. I may also guide you in bringing your awareness to your body, recognizing how and where you hold your emotions, how they impact you, and learning how to process them.
After obtaining a Masters in Social Work in 2009 I first developed my therapeutic skills in an adult drug & alcohol rehab, then moved into settings working with focuses on mental illnesses, addictions, disabilities, traumas, marital, family and relationship difficulties. I now work both privately and in a hospital-based behavioral health clinic
