Under Clinical Supervision

Kimmy Wu, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate, 18-P125537-01 is practicing under the supervision of Sienna Chu (New York, LMHC, 011213) at Intuitive Healing Psychotherapy Practice.

Please, note: A clinician listed as being “clinically supervised” is completing clinical hours toward their licensure. They have one or more fully licensed clinical supervisors that often have special training to become supervisors. They consult with their supervisor(s) on all of their cases, which means that, when working with them, you are getting the time and expertise of multiple therapists in your treatment.

What would be important for someone to know about working with you?

I believe that the foundation for effective therapy is a brave space that embodies curiosity, safety, compassion, empathy, accountability, and, most importantly, hope. While I acknowledge that therapy isn’t going to be comfortable at all times, I strive to meet my clients’ discomfort with a nuanced balance of mindfulness and comradery.

In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?

As I reflect on my personal and professional journey, I found that growth and healing are dynamic and almost never linear. To me, healing is having the permission to be unapologetically unbothered and the freedom to see and choose different possibilities in life. While I continue to develop clinically, my lived experiences will continue to inform my work as a compassionate, hopeful, and imperfect therapist. If I have the privilege of ever meeting or working with you, I wish to remind you that your pain is a beautiful testament to your existence… and I hope to be someone who gets to reflect, to you, the love, hope, joy, and abundance that resides within you.

Work History

After graduating with my bachelor’s at the University of Central Florida, I spent the first leg of my career in corporate marketing and e-commerce in the hotel industry… Several years later, I would find myself at a career crossroads due to corporate burnout and losing passion for my work. With that came the decision to pursue a career shift, ultimately leading me to obtain my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University. Now I practice as a psychotherapist in the beautiful and vibrant New York City!
