Professional Background
LicensureCalifornia, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, 47554
Education
California Institute of Integral Studies, Master of Arts, Psychotherapy, 2004 — I am a trained and licensed psychotherapist with 20 years of experience. I work as a clinician as well a clinical supervisor and, sometimes, I am also an adjunct graduate school professor. I have over 15 years of experience working psychoanalytically, I am trained in working with trauma, particularly using a technique called E.M.D.R. (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), and I also have training working with body awareness and mindfulness. What this adds up to is a therapy that blends both a deep understanding of psychological functioning, as well as, an understanding of the emotions and how those emotions live and get processed through the body.
