Education
Capella University, Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, 2019 — Emphasis on Practical Application: "Focused on evidence-based practices, particularly in CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care. Coursework emphasized real-world application through client case studies and in-depth internship experiences." Research Interests: "Conducted research on the impact of client-centered approaches in anxiety and depression treatment, with particular emphasis on youth and family dynamics." Academic Highlights: "Recognized for excellence in clinical skills and awarded for a thesis project that explored innovative approaches to trauma recovery and resilience-building in adolescents." Also was accepted to the Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International.
Capella University, Bachelor of Science, General psychology, 2015 — In my undergraduate studies at Capella University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in General Psychology in 2015, I was a member of a member of Counseling Association and National Society of Leadership and Success. This experience fostered my early commitment to professional ethics and excellence in the field. My studies focused on foundational theories in psychology and their applications, preparing me for advanced research and practice in clinical mental health.
Work HistoryAfter earning my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I embarked on a journey to support clients across diverse settings. I began in a community mental health setting, where I worked closely with individuals from various backgrounds, each facing unique challenges. This experience shaped my approach, especially in trauma and anxiety work, as I saw firsthand how powerful safe, supportive relationships can be in helping people heal and thrive. From there, I created a solo practice where I continue to grow my expertise in family therapy, child and adolescent counseling, and trauma recovery. My work here has allowed me to offer a range of services, including individual therapy, couples counseling, and group therapy, along with workshops and retreats. Collaborating with skilled colleagues in this setting has enriched my practice, especially in the use of evidence-based therapies like CBT and DBT, alongside somatic and mindfulness techniques. Working with children and adolescents has always been a special focus for me. I've learned how to use creativity and play to create a safe, engaging environment for young clients, helping them express their emotions in ways that feel natural. I believe that empowering kids and teens early on can make a significant difference in their lives. Each experience has shaped the way I connect with clients today—bringing empathy, a client-centered focus, and evidence-based tools to every session. My goal is always to meet each person where they are and provide the support they need to move forward with confidence.
