What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I use a trauma informed care approach, meaning that we connect your present day symptoms to the experiences and memories where they started. This perspective helps us to understand what happened to you, not what is "wrong" with you (even if you don't remember anything happening to you). My goal is to help you address not only the symptoms, but more importantly, the root of the issue, as this will help you achieve deep healing and long-lasting change.
As a certified EMDR therapist, I believe that many of our current struggles can be linked to distressing or traumatic experiences from the past that haven't been fully processed. These unresolved memories can influence how you feel and react today. Using EMDR, we'll address and process these memories with bilateral stimulation (eye movements, tapping, or tones). I incorporate ego state work, polyvagal theory, somatic therapy, and an attachment focus into my EMDR practice.
I also use Brainspotting, a method that taps into your body's innate ability to heal itself by locating spots in your visual field to help process trauma.
To ensure for a comprehensive and individualized approach, I also use CBT, DBT, ACT, ERP, and mindfulness techniques.
In what ways do your life philosophy and treatment philosophy overlap?
The guiding principle that illuminates my approach is the unwavering belief in the inherent wisdom and resilience that every woman possesses, irrespective of the traumas that may have shadowed her past. It is my conviction that beneath the weight of these traumas, lies a wellspring of strength and insight that, when tapped into, can lead to profound healing and transformation.
Every woman's journey is unique, and her path to healing is distinct. Yet, inherent in each of these paths is a form of resilience that not only allows her to endure but also to evolve. I view traumas not as insurmountable obstacles, but as experiences that, while undoubtedly painful, can be transformed into powerful marks of survival and growth. These scars, when approached with understanding and compassion, become testaments to her strength and the depths of her resilience.
My own personal journey of healing and transformation stands as a testament to this belief. The challenges I've faced and the growth I've attained have shaped my perspective and deepened my faith in the transformative power of therapy. I've come to realize that therapy, when rooted in trust, empathy, and understanding, can unearth the buried resilience in every woman, guiding her toward a path of self-discovery, healing, and empowerment.
In assisting my clients, I aim to be not just a guide but a witness to their journeys, honoring their narratives, and supporting their transitions from surviving to thriving.

Work HistoryI am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in treating women with trauma and anxiety stemming from a range of experiences, whether they're rooted in early childhood challenges, instances of sexual abuse, relationship difficulties, or issues related to the perinatal period. I have over eight years of experience treating individuals from all walks of life. I’ve provided therapy for teens, adult individuals, couples, families, and groups with concerns/issues including life stage challenges, depression, anxiety, anger management, trauma, substance abuse, relational problems, and OCD. I've worked in a wide range of mental health settings, including nonprofits, residential treatment, low-fee clinics, and outpatient settings such as group practices. I have experience working with civilians as well as active duty members, their spouses, and family members.
My passion for women's issues began while working as a Mental Health Clinician at a center for women with co-occurring substance and mental health disorders. Many had faced early life challenges, using substances to cope, with some facing legal troubles or child custody loss. Their resilience deeply moved me, and group therapy revealed the power of communal healing. This experience intensified my dedication to assisting women in overcoming past traumas. I pursued holistic training and specialized therapies, targeting mind-body trauma treatment. Personal battles with postpartum anxiety and depression further led me to focus on reproductive mental health, and I'm now certified as a perinatal mental health professional.
Today, I support women facing trauma, anxiety, and perinatal issues, continuously striving to guide them towards wellness.
