What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
“My path to becoming a therapist started with a curiosity about the mind and a desire to help people navigate life’s challenges. I was drawn to psychology in college and realized I wanted to do more than just study it—I wanted to use that knowledge to support real people. Over time, I discovered that combining counseling with neuropsychology allowed me to understand both the emotional and cognitive sides of human experience. What inspires me most is seeing clients gain insight, resilience, and hope as they work through difficult moments.”

Education
Brigham Young University, Doctorate of Philosophy, Clinical Psychology, 2010 — Dr. Kristy Money earned her PhD in Counseling Psychology with specialized training in neuropsychology. Her doctoral training focused on the intersection of brain function, behavior, and emotional health, with particular emphasis on ADHD, autism spectrum conditions, executive functioning, and psychological assessment.
Her graduate work included advanced coursework in neurocognitive assessment, diagnostic formulation, and evidence-based treatment. She completed supervised clinical training in comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations across diverse settings.
This training allows Dr. Money to integrate brain-based understanding with whole-person care—providing clear, thorough evaluations and practical, individualized recommendations.
Work HistoryOver the course of my training and clinical work, I developed a specialty in understanding how brain differences shape attention, learning, emotion, and relationships. My work has focused heavily on ADHD, autism, executive functioning challenges, and the ways these patterns show up differently in women and high-achieving adults.
I’ve conducted comprehensive neuropsychological and psychological evaluations across a range of settings, working with children, teens, college students, and adults who were often bright and capable but struggling in ways that didn’t fully make sense to them. That’s where my expertise grew — helping people move from confusion and self-doubt to clarity and self-understanding.
In therapy, I’ve worked with clients navigating anxiety, burnout, identity questions, relationship challenges, and the emotional impact of feeling “different” for much of their lives. My background in both counseling psychology and neuropsychology allows me to look at the full picture — brain, personality, history, and environment — rather than reducing someone to a checklist of symptoms.
Much of my work now centers on thoughtful, thorough ADHD and autism evaluations and helping clients understand what their diagnosis means in real life: at work, in school, in relationships, and internally.
