Get To Know Me
What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I believe that the point of going to therapy is to STOP going to therapy, so we will begin with defining your goals for therapy and begin working towards those goals. I believe that the client should be in charge of sessions, my job is to accompany you and to offer feedback on the things that we discuss and offer methods that may be helpful to get you to the goals you have for therapy.
I also believe that I am not the right therapist for everyone, so if I'm not the right fit for you then I would prefer that you go see someone else instead of continuing to see me. No matter what the reason is, I believe that it's important that you are working with the therapist that fits you, and if that's not me then I'll do my best to help you find the person that is right for you.
How does collaboration with other providers play into your work?
My business partner and I both believe that two heads are better than one, so we collaborate on all of our clients at least once per week but usually more frequently than that. I can't count how many times we have been talking about a client and one of us says/asks something insightful that the other hadn't thought of. We believe that our clients benefit from this practice and it is a central part of how we conduct therapy.
What does a first session with you look like?
We will discuss privacy, how I work as a therapist, how sessions usually go, then dig into your goals and begin the work of defining them while discussing your history. Sessions are 50-55 minutes long and the time is usually gone by before you know it!

Work HistoryI first started working with clients directly on nights and weekends while I was still Active Duty in the USMC, this gave me a unique opportunity to work with clients while not worrying about financial stability. After retiring in 2021, I worked with clients full time and have been doing so since then; I have built a method of connecting with my clients where they are, no matter where that might be. I recently completed training in EMDR and have utilized those methods with clients of all kinds, and have found it to be effective for a diverse spectrum of clients and would love to work with you as well!
