Get To Know Me
If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?
I wish people knew that CBT for tinnitus isn’t like being analyzed, and it doesn’t mean your tinnitus is a psychological problem. It gives you tools to help your brain develop habituation and calm your brain's response to the sound.
What are some the unique issues faced by clients in your particular field of specialization, in terms of mental health education, care, and/or treatment?
People often come to me feeling that their tinnitus or other health problems have been misunderstood or not taken seriously. Parents are often unsure about how to best support their child or teen with a chronic condition.
Are there any recurring themes or issues you’ve noticed as you treat people in your area of specialization, and how has this insight guided your approach?
Many people come to me feeling misunderstood and/or discouraged, so I try to create a place for them where they can feel heard, validated and hopeful.
