Work HistoryI have worked in a number of unique and varied settings. From a deaf and hard of hearing inpatient setting, to skilled nursing centers, to a private school for kids with autism, to male sex offender hospitals and high security male prison. Although seemingly random, they all hold a uniting similarity. These experiences gave me the opportunity to witness the need for compassionate care AND advocacy. The advocacy I'm referring to is our own self development. In understanding the ways in which toxic masculinity dominates our culture and the ripple effect it has on us all. I see it as a responsible part of our collective humanity, to reflect upon ourselves and to evolve, so that we can contribute to systemic change that serves the collective, rather than contributing to destructive forces. With these experiences, I have developed a passion of women's mental health. Specifically mothers. Often a thankless job. Over time, the woman's identity becomes meshed with mothering. The woman feels lost, on top of being overworked and feeling undervalued. Women have been trained to give themselves energetic straps. Our work is not about receiving external validation, rather about learning how to value themselves. The therapeutic setting is a space to be raw and unfiltered. To learn the habitual patterns that they have outgrown and to restore their connection to their own feminine-a sensation that is fierce, gentle, and sensual.
