What do you think is the biggest barrier today for people seeking care?
I believe that the stigma around mental health and having the fear of being labeled or diagnosed has truly impacted communities and individuals struggling with mental health. And there is also the misconception that "therapy doesn't work". And we make many excuses as to why we believe this myth. I also believe that therapy cost has deterred many individuals from seeking support through therapy and counseling. I would like to shed some light as to why. Although Licensed clinician's have done to work in graduating and obtaining licensure, there are many factors that others typical don't consider when we charge the rate that we do. It is not about the money - at least not for me. It's the upkeep of practice that is crucial in order to be able to provide you the services that you deserve and need. Here are some of the factors as to why we charge as much as we do; office space rent, malpractice insurance, utilities, educational hours to keep our licenses, client referral sites, and many more. I would like you to know that despite our prices, we are worth it.

The goal of this particular trauma counseling program was to learn how to help individuals process their traumatic experience and develop coping skills to manage the emotional and psychological effects of the trauma. We also learned how crucially important it is to address mental health even with those who've not experience trauma.
Work History
I have been fortunate to work as a mental health therapist for the past 7 years. I've worked in New Jersey as well as in the community of Philadelphia. I've had the chance to work to work in both outpatient, residential and psychiatric facilities in hopes of helping others discover their selves. Meanwhile, I've discovered that it was slightly difficult to provide one on care in a way that allowed the client to truly take their time through their process, identify their stressors and have the space to heal without being rushed or encounter other barriers impeding their process in outpatient settings. And it was then that I've decided to go into private practice and created my beautiful practice " Paramount Counseling and Life Coaching" to be able to do just that.
