Education
A&M Commerce, Texas, Master of Social Work, Social work, 2013 — I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work, which has provided me with a strong foundation in evidence-based therapeutic approaches, trauma-informed care, and systems theory. My training emphasized the importance of understanding individuals within the context of their environment, relationships, and lived experiences. Throughout my education, I focused on the impact of childhood development, family dynamics, and trauma on mental health, which continues to shape my work today. My background in social work allows me to take a holistic, compassionate, and nonjudgmental approach, helping clients navigate life’s challenges with the support and understanding they deserve.
Work HistoryI pursued my passion for helping others by earning a Master’s in Social Work, building on a foundation of dedication and education. After graduating, my experience focused on intensive crisis intervention, community services, developmental disabilities, out-patient and in-patient psychiatric needs, substance use, trauma/complex-trauma, attachment, family systems, relationships, foster care, and adoption, including the unique dynamics of the adoption triad. During my clinical internship, I further specialized in domestic abuse, adversity, attachment, family conflict and working with adult adoptees. My experience has shaped my therapeutic approach, allowing me to support clients in creating meaningful and lasting change. Throughout my journey as a therapist, I have worked with diverse populations—from teenagers to individuals over 100 years old—in settings such as hospitals, psychiatric care, hospice, and community agencies. My experience includes legislative advocacy, supervising child and family visits, working with advocacy centers, and supporting individuals and families through crises and stressful situations. My training and direct in-depth work with clients in the community and private practice provides additional insight and allows me to approach therapy with empathy, practicality, and a commitment to finding solutions that truly work for each client.
