If you could pick one movie or book that influenced your approach to therapy, what would it be and why?

If I had to pick one, it would be the book **"The Gifts of Imperfection"** by Brené Brown. This book profoundly influenced my approach to therapy because it emphasizes the power of vulnerability, self-compassion, and embracing imperfection. Brené Brown's insights on courage and authenticity resonate deeply with how I view the therapeutic process. I believe that healing and personal growth begin when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable, let go of the need for perfection, and learn to accept ourselves as we are. This philosophy shapes the safe, supportive space I strive to create for my clients, encouraging them to explore their feelings openly and embrace their true selves.

What does success look like in therapy? How will a client know that they are making progress?

Success in therapy is unique for each person, but it often looks like feeling more at peace with yourself and your choices. You’ll know you’re making progress when you start to notice positive changes in how you feel and react to life's challenges. This might mean experiencing less anxiety, feeling more in control of your emotions, or finding it easier to set boundaries and say no when you need to. You might also notice an improvement in your relationships, feeling more connected and confident in your interactions with others. Progress can be subtle at first, like realizing you're not as overwhelmed by stress or that you're finding joy in things that once felt daunting. The key is recognizing those small wins and understanding that each step, no matter how small, is a move toward a healthier, more balanced life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect to leave sessions with me feeling heard, understood, and supported. My goal is to provide practical tools and coping strategies that you can use in your daily life to manage stress, anxiety, and other challenges. You’ll gain insights into your thoughts and behaviors, helping you understand yourself better and make positive changes. We’ll work together to build resilience and confidence, empowering you to handle whatever life throws your way. Ultimately, you’ll walk away with a greater sense of control, clarity, and the ability to navigate your world with more ease and self-assurance.

Work History

Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings that have shaped my approach to therapy. I started out in community mental health, where I worked with people from all walks of life dealing with a wide range of challenges. It was there that I learned the importance of providing a safe and non-judgmental space for people to share their stories. From there, I moved into private practice, which allowed me to focus more on the unique needs of young adults and college students. I've spent years helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, and the often-overwhelming transitions that come with early adulthood. These experiences taught me how to tailor my approach to meet each client's specific needs, drawing from a variety of therapeutic techniques to find what works best for them. Whether it's using practical tools to manage anxiety or exploring deeper issues affecting your mental health, my work has always been centered around helping clients find balance and feel more in control of their lives. My goal is to provide the guidance and support you need to thrive, no matter where you are on your journey.
