In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
I had an incredible opportunity in high school to travel to Vietnam. It was there, at an orphanage, that I witnessed true poverty, trauma, and need for the first time in my young life. I was compelled from then on to find a way to help others. I wanted to stand in the gap for those who are hurting and help provide some comfort, strength, and encouragement in any way I could. I really enjoy working with individuals and hearing their amazing stories. Though often heartbreaking, together, we find resilience and strength and the ability to overcome.

Work HistoryI have spent 12 years working with school-aged clients and their families in individual, group, and family counseling. During this time, I provided services in foster homes, offices, treatment facilities, shelters, crisis centers, and school settings. My work as a therapist, crisis intervention counselor, prevention specialist, and a trauma specialist have all provided me opportunities to meet clients right where they are and help them process trauma and tough seasons in their lives while seeking out new, positive ways of coping and healing.
