If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?

If there’s one thing I wish people knew about therapy, it's that it is ok to not have it all figured out. I've found that many people keep themselves from starting therapy either due to fear of judgement or not knowing where to start. In reality, therapy is a space where you don’t need to have the answers—it’s a place to explore, understand, and heal at your own pace. What matters most is taking that first step, because therapy is about progress, not perfection. You don’t have to do it alone, and it’s okay to start exactly where you are.

What does a first session with you look like?

In our first session, I’ll take some time to really get to know you and understand what’s bringing you to therapy. We’ll explore the key struggles you’re facing and discuss what’s been going on in your life. I want to hear your story and get a sense of your main concerns so we can tailor our approach to meet your needs. We’ll also talk about potential directions for therapy and work together to set meaningful goals. Your input is important, and I want to make sure you feel comfortable with our plan. We’ll discuss what success looks like for you, so you can feel confident that we’re moving toward the changes you want to see.

Work History

Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients facing various challenges. In private practice, I’ve helped people navigate depression, anxiety, trauma, phobias, relationship conflicts, life transitions, and sleep issues. This experience has allowed me to develop a deep understanding of how these struggles impact everyday life, and I’m passionate about helping clients find practical strategies to feel more balanced and in control. I’ve also worked in an inpatient behavioral health hospital, where I supported individuals dealing with more severe mental health conditions, such as suicidal thoughts and psychosis. During this time, I developed and led an Intensive Outpatient Program, where I used approaches like Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients manage emotions, build resilience, and improve their overall well-being. Today, in addition to my private practice, I serve as the director of health equity at a local hospital. In this role, I focus on supporting healthcare workers and patients in addressing social needs like access to healthcare, food insecurity, housing issues, and burnout. This work has deepened my understanding of the complex ways in which life’s stressors can impact mental health, further shaping my approach to therapy.
