What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by my desire to help others as well as my own healing. I have seen how mental health challenges have impacted so many people and working to improve myself. That experience shifted how I understand change—not as something you “fix” alone, but something that happens through support, compassion, and honesty.
I later worked in crisis and inpatient mental health and substance use settings, where I saw how deeply people are impacted not just by personal struggles, but by larger systems and expectations. I became a therapist because I believe in helping people feel seen, reclaim their voice, and make empowered choices in their lives.

Work HistoryAt A Phoenix Awakening Counseling, I work with individuals navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, and emotional overwhelm, offering a space grounded in compassion, authenticity, and empowerment. Before becoming a therapist, I spent years in the corporate world, giving me a real-world understanding of stress, burnout, and the pressure to “hold it all together.” My clinical experience includes working in crisis units within mental health facilities as well as in substance use and mental health inpatient settings, where I supported individuals through some of their most vulnerable and critical moments.
My approach is trauma-informed and rooted in feminist theory, recognizing the impact of systemic pressures, societal expectations, and power dynamics on mental health. I am especially passionate about helping women who feel stuck, disconnected, or uncertain—whether in relationships or within themselves—reclaim their voice, trust their intuition, and make empowered decisions. Therapy with me is collaborative, honest, and focused on helping you reconnect with your inner strength so you can move forward with clarity and intention.
