Get To Know Me
What does a first session with you look like?
I always start with a session that gives us both a chance to get to know each other. I’ll ask questions, but you’re in control and can stop at any time. I also encourage people to ask me questions too! It’s your journey and I want to empower you to make sure you’re getting what you need. I strive to make a safe environment that allows you to explore what your needs are and together we’ll work towards your goals.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I am committed to fostering a space where openness is welcomed and your unique journey is honored. Together, we’ll navigate the complexities of your experience with the shared goal of moving towards the future you envision. I’m here to support you in every step of this collaborative process.
What do you view as a key component of the therapeutic relationship?
My approach is rooted in the belief that the strength of the therapeutic relationship is key to a meaningful process. I use trauma informed practice and ensure that your voice is heard. I believe that the tools that I provide utilizing DBT, ACT, IFS, and motivational interviewing are important, but I don't in a cookie cutter approach. You are in charge of your healing journey and you are the expert on yourself. Only you can truly say what will work for you in your situation. We have tools to guide us and I will work with you to make sure that your needs are truly being met. I'm always open to feedback.
