What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
My approach is active, engaging, and integrative, including relational, cognitive, and behavioral techniques. I also provide specialized, evidence-based treatments including EMDR, CBT, DBT, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
What do you view as a key component of the therapeutic relationship?
To me, trust is the most important component of the therapeutic relationship. Like with any relationship, it takes time to build trust and feel comfortable in therapy, but I view honesty and authenticity in therapy as crucial.
What does success look like in therapy? How will a client know that they are making progress?
I believe that therapy is successful when mental health symptoms have less of a hold on our day to day lives. For example, many of my clients struggle with "spiraling" anxious thoughts. Often, a goal of therapy is to be able to lessen the impact of these thoughts, or even see them decrease substantially. This is often a marker of progress in therapy with me.
