Under Clinical Supervision

Lisa Chen, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, 131794 is practicing under the supervision of Claire Hyman (California, LMFT, 20808) at Lisa Chen Psychotherapy and Better Mind Center.

Please, note: A clinician listed as being “clinically supervised” is completing clinical hours toward their licensure. They have one or more fully licensed clinical supervisors that often have special training to become supervisors. They consult with their supervisor(s) on all of their cases, which means that, when working with them, you are getting the time and expertise of multiple therapists in your treatment.

Work History

Hi, there. Are you struggling with perfectionism, burnout, stress, anxiety or depression? Despite appearing to lead a very successful life, you face a lot of sadness that your friends and family would be surprised to learn. You sense that a painful experience from the past is impacting your present, but you don't know how. . For some time, you don't even recognize the person reflected back in the mirror. I am a trauma-informed individual and couples therapist. I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, and couples who struggle with anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and trauma. My empathic approach marries a traditional in-depth psychological approach with the latest neuroscience. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems IFS), Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I use the latest treatment modality Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) to help diminish (not manage) chronic pain symptoms. I am extensively trained and have treated a myriad of clients who have faced stress, anxiety, treatment-resistant depression, emotional dysregulation, chronic pain and trauma. I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University and hold a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School.
