What do you think is the biggest barrier today for people seeking care?
Opening up to someone who you have no prior relationship can be extremely scary! Vulnerability with people we know can be intimidating let alone someone we just met. Therapy is allowing someone to see the deepest parts of us, sometimes the parts we haven’t shown anyone else. Don’t be afraid to look around, to check out multiple therapist’s, to look at therapist’ profiles on multiple websites to see if they are a good fit for you and your needs. And DEFINITELY don’t be afraid to say if someone isn’t a good fit after meeting. A good therapist understands this and wants, more than anything, for you to feel comfortable (even if that isn’t with them).
