Get To Know Me
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
I was drawn to mental health care by a deep belief that emotional well-being shapes every part of a person’s life. With over a decade of nursing experience, my path has included critical care, home health, behavioral support, clinical documentation, and outpatient psychiatry. I have worked with adolescents, adults, older adults, and some perinatal patients in inpatient, outpatient, and telepsychiatric settings. These experiences shaped a practice that is holistic, trauma-aware, culturally inclusive, and grounded in safe, evidence-based care. My goal is to create a calm, respectful space where patients feel heard, supported, and empowered.
In what ways have your personal experiences influenced your work with your clients?
My experiences in nursing and mental health care have deepened my respect for how personal, complex, and vulnerable it can feel to seek support. Working with people across different ages, backgrounds, and care settings has strengthened my commitment to listening without judgment, honoring each person’s story, and providing care that is compassionate, culturally respectful, and individualized. These experiences have shaped me to approach clients with patience, empathy, and a whole-person perspective.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to you as a whole person. I take time to understand your experiences, concerns, strengths, and goals so we can create a plan that feels thoughtful and realistic. When appropriate, that may include supportive therapy, medication management, education, and practical coping strategies. I value a calm, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, respected, and actively involved in your care.
