What would be important for someone to know about working with you?
I believe in a holistic approach to treatment where I look at the context for areas of concern, symptoms, and goals. I want to see the big picture and the little picture, and how they are interconnected. The mind and body are interconnected, so the initial Intake is longer in duration to obtain health history, rule outs, considerations, etc., to try to minimize "going down the wrong rabbit hole" with assumptions, diagnoses, or treatment protocols that are not addressing the underlying situation.

Professional Background
LicensureTexas, Licensed Professional Counselor - Supervisor, 16899
Work HistorySince elementary school, my friends have come to me for a listening ear, comfort, and perspective. Throughout the years, my interest in psychology grew, as well as the signs that serving others was going to be part of my career path. As I excelled in undergraduate and graduate coursework, my passion for helping others increased. With over 25 years of clinical experience working in nonprofits, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, outpatient clinics, two colleges (as a professor), and private practice, I have been privileged to assist with a wide array of client needs. My primary approach is along the behavioral continuum with the use of CBT, DBT, and REBT, but I also integrate solution-focused, revisioning, and acceptance and commitment therapies.
