Education
Stony Brook School of Social Welfare, Master of Social Work, General, 2009 — Stony Brook's program features a strong emphasis on social justice. Before concentrating in clinical work I enjoyed a career in public policy working in both non-profit and government positions in NYC and on Long Island.
City University of New York Queens College, Bachelor of Arts, English, 1988
Work HistoryI have been practicing as a social worker since 2009. Social work allows for a wide range of practice and I have enjoyed working in many areas of society through this profession. I have trained in clinical practice (therapy) throughout my career and have also held positions in government and non-profits in New York City and Long Island. Last year I made the decision to move exclusively into clinical practice and I started my own practice. During the pandemic I joined a private practice in NYC and like all therapist worked remotely. I enjoyed the experience of remote work so much I have continued on as an exclusively remote therapist. The clients who prefer remote therapy generally are a good fit for me as I do well working with people who require the flexibility and ease of remote therapy due to hectic schedule with career, families or personal lives.
