What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?

Hi, I’m Mackinze, and I’m passionate about being a part of my client’s journeys toward healing and growth. I became a counselor because I truly love connecting with people and supporting them through life’s ups and downs. To me, it’s an incredible honor to witness your story—the raw, unfiltered moments that shape who you are. I’m here to celebrate your victories, support you through setbacks, and help you find the resources you need along the way. My goal is to provide a safe, welcoming space where you can be yourself, explore your experiences, and work toward the life you want.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I have experience working with individuals facing a wide range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, self-harm, personality disorders, and trauma such as sexual assault, domestic violence, PTSD, grief, and loss. I strive to meet each of my clients exactly where they are, providing personalized support through a blend of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Person-Centered Therapy. Whether it’s one-on-one sessions or group therapy, my approach is always centered on you and your needs.

What would be important for someone to know about working with you?

You don’t have to navigate your challenges alone. If you’re ready to take the next step in your journey, I’m here to walk alongside you with empathy, understanding, and a tailored approach to your unique needs. Let’s connect and start working toward your goals together.

Work History

Hello! I have a board background. I have worked for a couple of years as a mental health associate with a behavioral/mental health unit located in a hospital setting and the prison system. These positions have provided me with a lot of experience with suicide ideation, personality disorders, mood disorders, eating disorders, psychotic disorders, and trauma. I also held a position with the Center for Prevention of Abuse working with survivors and aggressors. I provided individual and group counseling to both of these populations. I worked heavily with at-risk populations and populations who have experienced trauma.
