Get To Know Me
If there was one thing you wish people knew about the therapy experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?
I wish people knew that showing up to therapy is proof of your strength, not weakness.
Many people hesitate because they fear they must be "broken" or that they'll be judged. The truth is, therapy is a collaboration focused on gaining skills.
You come exactly as you are, and together we develop proven, evidence-based methods to handle stress, set boundaries, and process intense emotions like grief and anxiety. You are already strong; therapy simply provides specialized tools that help you thrive.
Are there any recurring themes or issues you’ve noticed as you treat people in your area of specialization, and how has this insight guided your approach?
The most persistent issue is a profound sense of isolation. Caregivers feel entirely alone, believing no one understands their layered grief or guilt. Others withdraw due to the shame surrounding anxiety or depression. This feeling of being fundamentally disconnected from others fuels burnout. This insight guides my use of Relational Therapy to create a genuine connection, actively normalizing their struggle, and teaching sustainable boundaries to allow for a healthier connection outside of therapy.

Work HistoryMy professional expertise in managing complex emotional stress and burnout was developed over eight years working directly with aging individuals and their families.
I spent 5 years as a Director of Resident and Family Services at a Memory Care community. This provided profound insight into the intense grief and guilt carried by caregivers. This experience taught me the critical need for sustainable boundaries and emotional support. My three years in Skilled Nursing focused on navigating high-stress transitions and sudden health changes.
This clinical history, combined with my academic focus on aging and dementia, ensures my therapeutic approach is grounded in both expert knowledge and real-world empathy.
