What do you view as a key component of the therapeutic relationship?
Trust is crucial for the therapeutic relationship. If a client is not comfortable being honest about what they are experiencing and their feelings, it limits the opportunity for the client to be able to meet their therapeutic goals. I am also a huge believer in clients having the trust to be honest with their therapist about how things are going in therapy, and I do my best to weave questions into therapy to help clients feel safe to be honest about their experiences in the therapeutic relationship.

Professional Background
LicensureMontana, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, BBH-LCSW-LIC-90105
Education
University of Montana, Master of Social Work, Social Work, 2024 — I received my Master of Social Work from UM in person. We covered issues focusing on therapy, policy, advocacy, and case management.
Work HistoryBefore becoming a therapist, I worked as the Recreation Director and day-staff at Daybreak Canyon residential treatment center in Kellogg, ID. I designed the daily recreation program which included skiing, hiking, and exploring as part of their recreation program. It was my work at Daybreak that inspired me to go back to school for my Master of Social Work and become a therapist.
While in graduate school, I worked at the Center for Restorative Youth Justice for my 1st year practicum and Greater Valley Health Center, with the majority of time spent observing at Evergreen Junior High. After graduating, I was employed by Greater Valley Health Center and was placed at Kalispell Middle School for two years as a School-Based Outpatient Therapist.
