In what ways do your life philosophy and treatment philosophy overlap?
My life philosophy and treatment philosophy overlap in my belief that healing begins with understanding ourselves and the experiences that have shaped us. I see every emotion as carrying a message, and when we take the time to explore those messages with curiosity, we uncover meaning, clarity, and opportunities for growth.
In both my personal and professional life, I recognize the impact trauma can have on the nervous system, relationships, self-worth, and daily functioning. My work in trauma-informed care and early childhood mental health has shown me how easily people learn to disconnect from themselves when they feel unsafe or overwhelmed. These patterns often start early and follow us into adulthood.
I also believe people hold a natural capacity for healing, even when their experiences have been painful or long-lasting. This belief guides how I show up in therapy. I help clients reconnect with their strengths, rebuild trust in themselves, and uncover parts of their identity that may have been hidden by stress or survival.
Both philosophies center on compassion, curiosity, and providing a safe space where people can be fully themselves. Healing is not about forcing change. It is about creating the right conditions for insight, emotional safety, and transformation.
Ultimately, I believe that when people are truly seen and supported, they heal. And when they heal, they begin to live in alignment with who they really are. This belief guides the way I live, the way I work, and the way I walk alongside every client in their healing process.

Work HistoryMy clinical experience has been shaped by nearly two decades of supporting children, adults, and families through some of their most challenging moments. Before opening Owl Medicine Healing, I spent many years working in community mental health and early childhood programs, where I supported families navigating trauma, stress, and major life transitions. These experiences helped me deeply understand how early experiences shape emotional patterns, relationships, and overall well-being.
In my therapy work, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside individuals healing from anxiety, PTSD, complex trauma, and the lingering effects of painful life events. My time as a therapist with Children’s Home Society allowed me to work closely with children, teens, and caregivers, often during crises or high-stress situations, strengthening my ability to remain grounded, calm, and attuned in moments when people need it most.
For many years, I also served in leadership roles within Head Start and Early Head Start programs, guiding mental health services across large teams and multiple communities. In these roles, I trained hundreds of professionals in trauma-informed practices and supported families facing overwhelming stress, grief, and systemic challenges. This work strengthened my belief that healing is possible at every stage of life and that supportive relationships are central to meaningful change.
Today, as an EMDR and trauma-informed therapist, I bring all of this experience into the therapy room. My background allows me to understand trauma not just as an event, but as something that affects the nervous system, relationships, self-worth, and daily functioning. I draw on years of clinical training and real-world experience to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to rebuild from the inside out.
